0 Speaking of Teachers

The story of teachers in my life is like a ‘Masala’ Bollywood film. It was ‘hate at first sight’ that gradually transformed to deep respect and affection. Today I would acknowledge without any exaggeration that the teachers have made me whatever I am today. But the journey has been like a roller coaster ride.

0 Our New Dumping Ground

Basically, this post is a written outcome of my frustration that I could not vent properly while in school and even in college. Taking pangas with teachers can create mayhem in a student’s life. I have been observing this since long and to my surprise, many of my friends too are extremely irritated. I’ll end this filmy suspense and will tell you clearly what this post is all about.

0 Astraphobia & “Almost Tandoori” Princess

The story unfolds under a dark and dreadful sky. The moon had disappeared among electrically charged clouds and Thor (God of thunder and lightning) was lashing Chennai because Loki again hid his Tandoori Chicken.

Nature is a dark horse, a total chupi rustum. She will act all innocent and lovely but stored in her kitty are the weapons of mass destruction. One of them is a blinding beauty called Lightning - who can heat up the air to 20,000 degree Celsius – about three times the temperature of the surface of the sun.

0 Life over a bucket of water...

Kids today will probably find it amusing to think that, at one point in time, we used to queue up at nearing midnight, to catch a bucket of water!

0 Just a Colour

“It’s just a colour”, I whispered, more of an attempt to convince me myself actually. But that is what that has been bothering me. Annoying too! Why does it have to be the same colour all the time? Or is it just me who’s been too paranoid about it? Do others see him the same way? Perhaps they see him in more colours than I do, but is that possible? Oh God, if they do and I don’t, does that mean I am categorically colour blind?

1 First Night's Dialogue

‘Shhh…What are you doing?’
‘Nothing unusual…considering it is our first night!’

8 Zodiac Reactions

Well this is one discussion I am always all ears to. And yes, I always wanted to write on this- the zodiac signs. I agree that there is no second opinion in crowning late Linda Goodman as the queen of the zodiac analysis, but here’s my analysis of the zodiacs.

In my class, there were students of all the zodiac signs. And they actually reacted differently to the same thing and same command of the HOD…here’s what our ex- HOD Mr. Sharma typically sounded like:

“Your minor project is complete crap, be ashamed of yourself and no second thoughts on a redo. And I know it’s copied. Hai naa? Are you getting my point???”

2 Toothache tales and a great fall!

No there ain't many! Only one to be precise; but that is like 100 tales!

I woke up this morning with a terrible toothache and headache. It's sunday and I leave for a business trip tomorrow early morning for 4 days! SOS. I call up my dentist and as expected he does not answer my phone! Panic! Pain! Tension! Five days with this horrible pain already sounded horrible!

2 Marriage Spice

Everyone would agree that the relationship between a husband and a wife is complicated and confusing but nonetheless a most endearing and interesting one. If we look around us more often than not we’ll find aptly and strangely matched pairs that make up for a happy-to-lie but funny-to-observe family. It’s not rare to spot couples squabble cutely over who’s supposed to mind the kids, why was she completely cornered when he ran into his friends from work, why was that expensive dress bought for no reason, why he overslept and made them miss the movie and so on.

1 My Experiments with Truth

“Truth is God” - that’s how he summarized his beliefs; he swore to speak only truth. Mahatmaji is an epitome of truth and the little princess was completely inspired by him. That was 13 years ago though; no matter how rowdy I was the words that were uttered by me were pure truth – unadulterated. Although the outcomes were not something to cherish about and if it had not been because of my angelic innocent face, some severe results would still been visible through the years … {Another fact being I was afraid of the Kauwa(crow) in “Jhoot bole Kauwa kate” wala saying - what if the Kauwa really kaate my lovely self }

1 Encounters of the Touchable Kind

I was travelling for some work in the morning crushing rush hour in Mumbai's Central Railway. Typically , no place to stand, forget sit. I was squeezed in, in a weird position somewhere near the door to one side, and even if I wanted to scratch my forehead, I was probably going to injure 3-4 people with my elbow.

0 Our Love for Writing

More than a year and a half back, I wanted to write and keep writing and wanted it to be preserved and treasured, not by anyone else, I would be enough. I had started to blog. A word and a world I had learned of the first time in my life.

Today, not so much later, the scenario has changed drastically.

1 Meat and Wheat

Should a person be meat-eater or wheat-eater, I mean a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian? The debate is endless and leads to more confusions than conclusions, simply because it is a matter of personal choice. Off and on it flares up but never dies. A comment given recently by Dr. R.K. Pachauri that we must avoid meat at least once a week to begin with, in order to help contain global warming, has again brought it live.

0 A Bird's Eye View of Festivals

A frightened Lulu, my parrot, suddenly flew in my room. He fluttered his wings and sat quietly on the arm of my chair.

‘What happened to you Lulu?’ I asked, noticing that he was still panting and was looking visibly disturbed.

0 Brangelina in Amche Pune

(Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie  braving Pune)

Bustling monsoon morning in Pune. The year the rain stretched into October, bringing apprehensions of a wet Divali, thanks to Global Warming, designed maybe, to prohibit bursting of crackers, (a form of golbal warming, some say.). Unlike Mumbai, (and like me :-) ) , Pune cools down after a shower.
